About True Worship

True Worship UPC is a vibrant and welcoming Apostolic church located in the heart of Conway, committed to sharing the love of Jesus Christ with our community and beyond. As part of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI), we are a family-focused congregation that believes in the power of worship, prayer, and the transforming message of the gospel. Our mission is to equip individuals and families to grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with God, and impact the world around them through service and discipleship. With a strong emphasis on biblical teaching and a spirit of unity, True Worship UPC provides a place where lives are changed, and faith flourishes. Whether you’re new to church or seeking a place to call home, you are welcome here.

What We Believe

  • For many, the word "Pentecostal" might be unfamiliar, though its origins are deeply rooted in both ancient Jewish tradition and the early Christian experience. The term comes from the Day of Pentecost, as described in Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit was first poured out on the early believers. Those who have received a similar experience are called Pentecostals. They turn to the Book of Acts as their guide for living out their faith, trusting in the firsthand accounts of those who knew Jesus personally (Acts 2:1-4).

  • Pentecostals believe in being led by the Spirit, but this doesn't diminish the importance of the Bible as the primary source of truth. We expect that a loving, intelligent Creator would communicate His message in a way that’s clear, lasting, and accessible, and the Bible fulfills that role. When we engage with scripture, we hear God's voice speaking to us today, offering the truth that can transform our lives and guide us toward eternal life (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

  • The powerful message of Scripture is that our Creator became our Savior. The God we sinned against is the One who forgives us. In His deep love, God came in the flesh to save us—He didn’t send someone else, He gave Himself. As our Creator-Savior, He now lives within us as the ever-present Spirit, guiding us daily. Jesus Christ is God incarnate, and in Him, we find everything we need: healing, deliverance, victory, and salvation. Recognizing this truth restores biblical faith and brings apostolic power to our lives (Colossians 2:9-10).

  • Our belief and practice should align with the full biblical pattern. As we embrace the gospel and believe in Jesus Christ, we will repent, be baptized in His name, and receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 2, 8, 10, 19). We welcome everyone, encouraging all to experience everything God has for them.

Each person is accountable to God for their faith response. The Bible is our ultimate authority, and salvation is found through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift of grace through faith, fully realized when we obey Acts 2:38 and receive the new birth Jesus promised.

  • Jesus showed us an example of how to live a perfect life of holiness without legalism. Holiness is essential for living a life free from sin’s power. It’s a joyful privilege, part of the abundant life, and a blessing from God’s grace. For Spirit-filled believers, holiness is the natural and only way to live, reflecting God’s original design for humanity.

  • Worship is a fundamental aspect of human existence. The question isn’t whether we will worship, but who and how we will worship. God calls us to worship Him passionately in every area of our lives, with all our actions and attitudes having the potential to honor Him. Jesus invited everyone to authentic worship, and He continues to do so today.

  • God can do far more than we ask or imagine, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). As Spirit-filled believers, we trust God to work through us, meeting needs and strengthening the church through the gifts of the Spirit. On Pentecost, Peter proclaimed that God’s Spirit would be poured out on all people, a promise that holds true today. Across the globe, people are encountering the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit, embracing the Pentecostal experience (Acts 2:39).
